Morning
Morning skincare regime is important as you have to make your skin ready to face the negative effects of climate and environment. The morning regime prepares your skin to fight against factors like humidity, sun rays, pollution and more.
Wake up call: Wake up your skin by splashing a lot of water over the face. If you have dry skin then avoid hot water as it will make your skin drier and less elastic. You can use tepid water for oily skin to remove excess oil that causes acne, whiteheads and blackheads.
Cleaning: Cleanse your skin under the shower and use cleanser as per your skin type. Foamy mild cleansers are good for all skin type. However, stay away from harsh chemical based products that reduce the gentleness of your skin.
Exfoliate: This process is advisable twice a week. This will help to eliminate the dead skin, grime and dust from the pores that magnetise your skin more in monsoon. Exfoliation also helps to reduce the sun tan and makes your skin feel and look soft and smooth.
Toning: Most of the women skip toning but it is an essential part of the skincare regime. It maintains the PH level of the skin. “Toner is a must during monsoon. Don’t use astringent and alcohol based toners that hydrate your skin rather damaging,” advices Richa Aggarwal, beauty expert from Cleopatra, chain of spa and salon. Dab some in a cotton ball and pat on your skin, especially on forehead, around nose and chin.
Moisturising: It nourishes your skin, avoids signs of aging, key to radiant skin and moisturising has several other skin benefits. This step is a must for all skin type from normal to dry and oily skin. Don’t forget your neck while applying moisturiser as it is an extension of your face. Apply sufficient amount to hydrate your skin.
Sunscreen: Be it summer, winter or monsoon, sunscreen should be a permanent product of your skincare kit. Broad spectrum sunscreen is good as it provides long lasting effect. Use SPF 30 and above for better results. You can also go for the moisturisers that contain SPF value that makes a wise decision.
Evening
Evening skincare regime is more important than morning as you have to wipe out each trace of dirt, dust, pollution and makeup. Richa recommends that one can use the aloe vera gel after cleaning the face that hydrate your skin and soothe from allergies and irritation.
Cleansing: Evening is the time when you should let your skin rest. Therefore cleansing becomes important. It removes dirt, grime, sweat, makeup and all the unhealthy elements that your skin has pull throughout the day.
Toning: As the day ends your skin lose all its gentleness and essential moisture. And, it becomes quite important to hydrate your skin with natural toner. You can also use rose water or cucumber juice as toner. They have natural properties and help to keep your skin healthy.
Moisturizing: Again, moisturising is a healthy habit that keeps your skin hydrated. And in the evening before going to the bed make sure you have applied good amount of moisturiser or night cream to feed your skin the entire night. And most important don’t forget your hand and feet.
